Right, since Carl was injured I've saved him the ignomony of a Eurovision-style 'nul points'.

Hope your back's better, Carl - do let me know if you value your Stalwart rating more than your average, and I'll reinstate you for this game :->

I can't believe what conspired against my attempts to go to the beer festival last night. First off, after going home to shower and prevaricate for a bit (as is my wont), I discovered, as I was about to leave, that I'd left my phone at work and had no idea whether anyone was actually going to the festival. So I decided to go in to collect it. Then, when I got back from work it was 9 p.m. ... after establishing that people were going to stay to the end (10:30) I got my bike out. Reasoning that the tyres were fairly flat and I would get to the fest quicker on pumped-up tyres, I went back in to the house to fish out the pump. I started pumping up the front tyre only for the pump to explode in my hand. After spending ten more minutes trying to put the bloody thing back together, I discovered, as a consequence of the process of accidentally releasing all the air from the front tyre, that the pump was knackered. This left me unable to ride to Jesus Green and the thought of walking in the rain, dehydrated, hungry, and fearful of what was to come next if I tried to visit this hexed festival, only to arrive in the queue about 10 o'clock with only 20 minutes before they called last orders, led me to reason against the project.

At least we won the game!

What? There's no Foetid Old Bastard left?! That's my favourite!
Oh well I'll have a pint of Skanky Old Minge instead

Beer Festival sounds peachy! Also makes a change, which as we all know is as good as a rest.

Early enough in the week to ensure that they have more left than Foetid Old Bastard.

So who's up for a visit to the beer festival tonight?

Of course I can't suggest that I would have a drink on a weeknight in full view of my boss (or even suggest in full view of my boss that I would have a drink on a weeknight) so I'll just say that the beer festival has the finest pork pies and cheeses you're likely to find on Jesus Green tonight.

Like I said to Jason...

Mutter mutter, away goals, feck, mutter mutter....

Matters weren't helped when Em cheered a Sheff U goal scored their second ("I thought the man in the blue kicked it in the goal.") With the screen filled with the image of David Johnson crying after the game, I got a text from my sis back in Hucknall just saying "Bless".

Unlucky the Saints, although not the left back - he was lucky not to be off the pitch after 30 seconds!

I stopped watching the match after the goal went in - was a rather dull affair. But then again, when was the last decent FA Cup Final?

And there's also the small matter of the Forest game the other day too...

Hey, flat track bully is my expression for referring to Paul Scholes! Anyway, thought it was well boring, but a trophy is a trophy... Even old DB had a decent game, must have been his first all season...

Eh? The Saints narrowly avoided another whipping as the Gunners' Musketeers wasted their usual quota of chances. Mind you I'd swap Jeffers for Beattie... :-j

Boring boring arsenal, the perennial flat track bullys get their consolation prize at the expense of the plucky Saints
